Understanding Active Direcotry stores

"Normally, an AD administrator doesn’t make changes to the schema on a regular basis. The majority of the time, you modify the schema only when you're installing an application that uses Active Directory to store and retrieve information." Clines, Steve; Loughry, Marcia. Active Directory For Dummies (Kindle Locations 529-530). John Wiley and Sons. Kindle Edition.

I'm trying to understand the impact of Active directories in a databases. If my Database resides on a OU (Organizational Unit ) and some changes are done to the DB structure, will this impact the AD schema?

If AD works as a Dictionary of Objects how is the Database object affected by an internal change. after all the Domain should not care if the DB was modified internaly?
